FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ISH, INC. LEADS BRISTOL HOSPITAL TO SUCCESSFUL PERIOPERATIVE PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
Comprehensive Resource Management Strategy Improves Surgical Workflow and Improves Quality of Patient Care

FAIRFIELD, NJ: ISH, Inc. announced today the completion of a successful Perioperative process improvement through the implementation of GE Centricity Perioperative Manager at Bristol Hospital in Connecticut. The go-live is the culmination of a strategic initiative to improve operational and financial performance in Perioperative Services. Utilizing ISH’s proprietary “Operational Foundation Implementation Track” which leverages ISH’s SolutionSets and Best Practice Workflow and Setup Templates developed from numerous ORIS implementations; the initiative was completed in an expedited time frame with reduced costs while still delivering desired outcomes. In concert with the implementation, ISH helped Bristol develop a documented future state business flow and a defined data model that will support the documentation and reporting needs of Perioperative Services.

The implementation included new processes and functionality for Scheduling, ADT communication and the OR Charging interface. In the near future, it will include an Item Master interface plan to support case costing. Also incorporated into the project was the implementation of a new Rules Based Scheduling process. Phase II implementation will include clinical documentation for Intraop Services, Custom Reporting and Information Access, and the implementation of a new internal communication process.

According to Robert Rose, RN, MS, Vice President of Patient Services for Bristol Hospital, “We are thrilled with how smoothly the installation of our new GE Centricity Perioperative Manager and go-live process has gone with the help of the ISH team. This comprehensive resource management tool will streamline surgical workflow and dramatically increase efficiencies and productivity, as well as simplify many of the daily challenges that exist in this complex environment. In addition, we now have access to real-time clinical and business information which ultimately helps us provide better patient care and positive outcomes for our patients.”
