UAMS achieves improved surgical
workflow through enhanced GE ORMIS functionality |
|
FAIRFIELD, NJ: ISH, Inc. announced the successful completion
of a GE ORMIS optimization and upgrade project at University
of Arkansas Medical Sciences Medical Center which resulted
in improved surgical workflow and quality of patient
care.
Utilizing their proven methodologies and experience
as upgrade specialists and leveraging their Solution
Sets and Best Practice Workflow and Set Up Templates
derived from previous GE ORMIS and other ORIS implementations,
ISH aided UAMS with design, set up and the optimization
of tasks in the following areas: Available/Average Room
Time, Case Monitoring, Database Build and Maintenance,
Doctor Preference Cards, Customizer, Manager, Month
End, OR Scheduler, Pathway Manager, Q and A Builder,
Resource Catalog, Security Manager, Staff Scheduling,
Standard Interface and Weblink.
ISH has completed numerous GE Centricity Perioperative
upgrade projects, including the latest version 7.5,
with organizations benefitting from both continually
updated Solution Sets, and the extensive operational
and technical knowledge of their resources.
“The ISH Team was challenged with the monumental
task of optimizing the Centricity Perioperative Manager
system, a system that had been in use for 9-10 years
without benefit of defined standards and a clear understanding
of the impact of decisions to systems set up In a six-month
period many improvements were made to enhance the accuracy
of the data extracted from the system. These improvements
included an upgrade of CPM to a newer version with cleanup
and enhancements concerning the scheduling, DPC and
reporting functions. Most importantly, the process included
the development of data coding standards and policy
and procedures to support data integrity with the continued
use of the system. We now have the confidence that the
foundation created will support our continued growth
and efforts to improve our processes and efficiencies.
I feel fortunate that ISH will be involved in future
endeavors and would have not hesitance in recommending
ISH to other organizations,” stated Anna Williams,
RN, MNSc; Director of Surgical Services for UAMS Medical
Center.
