| Dear
Ms. Reilly,
I
would like to take this opportunity to express
my appreciation on behalf of Stanford Medical
Center, for the services that ISH has provided
over the last year. Your company has been extremely
flexible in providing resources with required
expertise for different aspects of our Sterile
Processing/Distribution department at a moment’s
notice, including providing interim management
staff around the clock.
Thanks
to the Leadership provided by the ISH Interim
Management Team, we have been able to mange and
implement continuous new processes, and provide
quality services in a very complex organization
with inherent challenges.
You
are well aware of the many different projects
and tasks that have been requested by the ISH
staff to carry out. Your staff has consistently
adapted and implemented all changes with competence
and professionalism. They have assisted us in
providing mentoring, guidance, training, policies
and procedures, staffing analysis, recommendations
and audits.
The
Central Sterile Certification course along with
the Instrument Recognition course provided by
ISH has allowed us to cross train staff, provide
our customer with competent staff, and improve
instrument tray assembly, accuracy and quality.
We
were only able to focus on the instrumentation
required for first and second case of the next
day. With the implementation of your “next
day priority report” process we are providing
all instrumentation readiness by the start of
the OR day.
I
cannot continue without addressing the improved
accuracy of and the ability to locate instrument
trays. ISH has taken on an enormous task of revamping
the Instrument Asset Management data base, so
that the contents of the trays are listed accurately,
hundreds of additional trays have been added to
the database and the locations are being linked
with the Materials Management System that supports
the OR system.
The
picking process has been made easier by ISH redefining
bin locations and cleaning up the item file database
to support the OR case cart system and procurement.
I
have mentioned individual task or projects, but
as you and your staff know, one does not succeed
without the other. Your team has integrated all
above processes to improve the quality of services
provided by my department.
In
closing, I want to thank you for providing Stanford
University Medical Center with such capable hands-on
consultants, who without question have become
part of the Stanford system.
Sincerely,
Candace Reed
Director of Sterile Processing and OR Materials
