To Jeffrey J. Uliano,
In the past, my experiences with consultants
have not been favorable. I've even heard jokes
about them saying, "Consultants are like
pigeons; they fly in, they poop, then they fly
out." When I heard that we were getting someone
to help us with the problems we were facing with
our BSI system, I was less than enthused. However,
Cynthia (Cindy) Sommers changed my views dramatically
with her plethora of knowledge of the system.
She is more like a clean up lady-and she cleaned!
Cindy has made our lives so much, easier that
it is unimaginable to revert to past practices.
We have learned so much from her presence at OLM.
She reminds me of a schoolteacher that would show
you how to do something and then stands there
and watch you do it to make sure you understood.
She scrutinizes the most intricate details of
every process-which is scary but good.
Cindy is an extremely valuable and competent
asset for any healthcare organization. She is
also resourceful. If she doesn't have the answer
to a problem immediately, it will only be a phone
call or an email away. It is unfortunate that
she is unable to join us on a fulltime basis.
We have learned not only how to utilize the system
to its fullest potential, but also how to maintain
it.
