Dear Carol,

I wanted to take this opportunity to express my appreciation, on behalf of MacNeal Hospital, for the implementation services that ISH has provided over the last several months. The diagnostic Assessment provided a comprehensive analysis of operational issues, staffing, equipment and instrument needs.

Paula Shively, Acting Manager,provided clinical and administrative support to translate the recommendations into reality. The Surgical Processing Department is staffed appropriately, the staff are scheduled at the right time, Instrument Set Lists and Preference Cards have been identified, job descriptions, competencies, and orientation has been revised and implemented.

The initiatives listed above were implemented over an eight-month period with a minimum amount of disruption. The quality, accuracy and efficiency in SPD have improved dramatically. In addition ISH played a pivotal role in recruiting the OR Director and SPD Supervisor.

In closing I want to emphasize the positive impact your services have had on the care we provide to our patients and the customer service we provide to our staff and physicians.
