Dear Mr. Uliano:
I wanted to write this brief letter of appreciation
to you for the services that ISH provided to Columbus
Regional and The Medical Center in the two engagements
for which we contracted. Briefly, the first engagement
was the interim management of our Surgical Services
Department. As you are well aware, we ran into
a situation where our OR Director left our organization
abruptly. We were in the midst of several major
issues including a software selection process,
materials management, and physician dissatisfaction
with OR operations. Thanks to the leadership provided
by the staff from ISH, the interim management
process was successful and lead us through decisions
that we are implementing today including some
transition of reporting relationships for the
Central Sterile Processing functions. ISH helped
us identify and hire and Instrument Processing
Manager that has totally resolved all of the problems
in that area. ISH also provided great leadership
and support in the software selection process
and provided great insight into some of the materials
management issues. Today, our physician complaints
have dropped to nearly zero and we are well on
the way to solving the cost issues that were initially
addressed by ISH.
This initial engagement meshed very well with
our second engagement, namely materials management.
As you are again well aware. ISH provided staff
support to evaluate our materials management system
and ultimately recommended the replacement of
our materials management software. We are currently
implementing that recommendation along with several
others that ISH made to us. Many of the established
materials goals were achieved and the relationship
with ISH was a good one from which we continue
to benefit.
