| Dear
Wilma:
The
purpose of this letter is to tell you how much
I personally appreciate the contribution you have
made to our hospital during the past several months.
I
have found that many consultants come into an
organization to accomplish a specific task without
regard to whom or what else may be destroyed in
the process. Your approach is refreshing. You
quickly integrated yourself into our organizational
structure and made yourself part of the team.
In every sense, you became one of us. You skillfully
identified the resources that you needed to be
successful and used those resources to your advantage.
The effective manner in which you used the services
of our Human Resources Department is but one example
of your organizational savvy. You restored order
and respectability where previously there was
chaos and lack of respect. You have mastered the
knowledge of when to be tough and when to be gentle.
In the process, you helped many problem-children
become productive employees and good employees
become better employees. Because you are such
a forward-thinking person, you are leaving us
in better shape than we where when you found us.
Indeed, you have raised the bar, and your replacement
will have big shoes to fill when you are gone.
Your
vast know-how and experience are evident in everything
you do. Clearly, you are a “super consultant”
in the huge sea of consultants. But it is your
personality that sets you apart. Your people skills
are second to none, and that has enabled you to
sell your ideas and influence others at Forrest
General to accept and embrace necessary change.
Dynamite
sometimes comes in small packages. This is certainly
true in your case. Like many others at Forrest
General, I will miss you when you are gone. I
have enjoyed working with you on the “little
opportunities” that have come our way and
assure you that you have not been a “pest.”
I
sincerely hope you will stay in touch. If I can
ever be of service to you, please do not hesitate
to call me. We all wish you the best in your future
endeavors.
Best
Regards,
Wayne Chance, SPHR
